An Afternoon of Fun

Happy Saturday! This has been such a great week. As always spending time here is a blessing.

This is a project that I worked on for Sherri Baldy's Creative Team. I was asked to use this sweet little Besties image and showcase one of my favorite color ways for hair, using Copic Markers. The details of this sweet girls hair can be found here at www.Sherribaldy.blodspot.com

Truth be told I tried coloring just the hair on several images. I had no success! I am definitely one of those people who need to do the skin tone first. Here is what I used.

After finishing the skin I was able to move on. Here are the eyes and lip colors I used.

Now I worked on the flowers, leaves and her shirt. The markers are laying in the order that I used them from left to right.

This is my finished colored image.

I then did some die cutting and built up the layers of the card. Theses are the colors I used. The paper is also from Stampin'Up and matched the inks.

I used clear acrylic sheet and die cut to make a shaker card. Miscellaneous sequence were added for a little bling.

I hope you enjoyed this sweet card. Comments and suggestions are always welcome.

Until next time.
Happy Crafting.

Quilted Thank You Cards

Happy Thursday!
I love spending time in my craft room. I have so much fun. Yesterday I started working with some items from my latest Papertrey Ink order. The fact is I couldn't wait! I had so much fun creating these little Thank You note cards.

I used 2 dies from Papertrey Ink. The Stitched Coasters Die and Quilted: Summer Die.
I also used Papertrey Ink's Quilted Summer stamp set.
Oh my gosh when I think of the possibilities!

The ink colors I used.

The "Thanks so much" sentiment is from Stampin'Up stamp set Tiny Tags with the matching paper punch. The accent paper is Coastal Cabana also from Stampin'Up.

My card measurements are 4x4. And will fit in a 41/2x41/2 Inch envelope. I make my envelopes with the 1-2-3 Punch Board by We R memory keepers. Making envelopes to match the card adds the extra touch of Wow! I will have to do a post on making envelopes.
This was such a fun afternoon. You can never have to many Thank You cards on hand.

I hope you enjoyed my little project. Please share your thoughts and suggestions.

Until next time....
Happy Crafting,
Beth

Creating Mini Books

Happy Monday!

Mondays are the day I help in a local Scrapbook store called Every Memory's Important (EMI). I enjoy meeting great ladies and learning new things especially about products.

I have been designing Mini books for the store for quite some time now. The owner of the shop Susan  and an amazing team of ladies prep the kits. We cut paper, put together the embellishments and photographs for instructions. Susan has been doing this for many years, she is amazing. Whenever I get a mental block during a project, she always comes up with a great idea. I am grateful for all that I have learned. Today I worked on finishing 2 books. This is my last day at the store until my son Mikey goes back to school in the fall. I really enjoyed making both of these books. Susan will add finishing touches that may be needed.

I really do enjoy being there once a week and helping out where I can. Nothing can make me smile like a paper crafting store! :)

Happy Crafting,

Beth

So Thankful For Crafting

I truly am so grateful for Crafting! About 8 years ago my friend Jane helped me release my inner crafter.
I had no idea how my world would open up. Jane helped me learn that handmade treasures to share with others was an amazing thing to do. And to do it all with genuine love for those who are on the receiving end. Well that's where the real joy is. The friends I have made and all I have learned is invaluable. I love all my crafting friends!

I enjoy knitting, quilting, and paper crafting! Who knew at 50 I would love to color! Less than a month ago I posted some Sherri Baldy images I had colored on the My-Besties designs Face Book page. To my delight I was contacted by Deirdre Smith. Deirdre is Sherri Baldy's Design Team Coordinator for Sherri's personal blog. Long story short, I was offered a position on Sherri Design Team. Which brings me to this moment in time. Blogging... It was never on my list of things to do. But Deirdre supportively suggested that my own blog was an important thing to do. So here I am.

The fact is that I would not have this opportunity if it wasn't for another friend I found through crafting, Janette. Janette and I met through knitting, but that's story for another time. One day Janette shared the cutest images she had found, The Besties by the artist Sherri Baldy. That was the start of my desire to color with Copic markers. The Besties images are so stinkin adorable.

I am beyond grateful to Jane, Janette and all the amazing crafters I have the pleasure of knowing! Most of all I'm thankful for my husband of 25 years Jon. He loves and supports all that I enjoy doing! I am truly blessed.

I am looking forward to sharing crafting ideas that have inspired me. Techniques I have learned along the way. But most of all I am looking forward to learning from all of the amazing crafters out there. I'm hoping this is a gateway to meeting you and enjoying your time and talents.

Happy Crafting,

Beth
